FC Barcelona has had remarkable players on his ranks. One of the most remembered cases is Lionel Messi, who shone throughout his seasons in Catalonia. Currently, under the leadership of Xavi Hernandez, the team aims to achieve significant accomplishments this season.

With the departure of Ousmane Dembele, the team has received a little over €50 million, allowing them to continue exploring the transfer market, following the arrivals of Gundogan, Romeu, and the upcoming arrival of Joao Cancelo. However, not all players who have arrived at the Joan Gamper Sports City have had the same luck.

In the case of Philippe Coutinho, his time at FC Barcelona was truly a nightmare. The Brazilian arrived from Liverpool with the reputation of a star. In 2018, Barça signed him for €120 million, making him the most expensive signing in the club's history. After very few minutes in Spain, the player was loaned to Bayern Munich, where he performed well and won his first UEFA Champions League.

However, the Germans did not exercise the purchase option, saying that he was too expensive and not a decisive player in Munich. Despite returning to Spain, the player didn't get more opportunities and was loaned to Aston Villa, which eventually bought him in 2022 for €20 million. Nevertheless, today, the player finds himself in a similar situation and is set to leave the team.

Barcelona would benefit from Coutinho's sale

According to SPORT, Coutinho would sign with Al-Duhail in Qatar. Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations are ongoing, but if the deal is finalized, FC Barcelona would receive up to 50% due to the clause that Barca established with Aston Villa in case the player was sold. Therefore, the Catalan club would benefit from Coutinho's sale.
