Bayern Munich did not take too kindly to Robert Lewandowski's latest statements, who did not hesitate to throw a few blow at his former team in an interview with ESPN. “Everything that happened in recent weeks was a lot of politics. The club tried to find arguments to sell me to another club. Maybe the fans and I had to accept that even though a lot of false nonsense was said about me," were the striker's words, which were soon answered by the German club’s director.

"I don't understand it at all," stressed Hasan Salihamidzic, sporting director of the Munich club, in statements reported by Bild. "My father taught me that when you leave, you never close the door with your backside. Robert is on the best way to achieve just that," he added, making it clear that Lewandowski's behavior both before and after his move to FC Barcelona is perplexing those at the club with which he won everything.

Salihamidzic also wanted to remember Joan Laporta, president of the Catalan side, who recently had a controversial exchange of words with Bavarian coach Julian Nagelsmann.

The Allianz Arena was not pleased with the behavior of the president of the Catalan giants during the debate over Lewandowski’s future, so Salihamidzic sent him this message: “With all the clubs with whom we have spoken we have always had the intention to treat each other with respect and to hold fair and serious negotiations. Barcelona's statements at the negotiating table were not right. It is clear that we will talk about it with Joan Laporta when we meet next time".

Bayern chairman Herbert Hainer added: "I don't understand at all why Robert has brought it up again. Everyone got what they wanted. Let's not forget that he was the first to make things public at the end of last season," he concluded. After ‘Lewy’ made public his desire to join Barcelona at the end of last season.
