Spanish left-back Marcos Alonso has the go-ahead from Chelsea to negotiate his future away from the English club, a new destination that points to Xavi Hernandez's Barça. Alonso wants to return to Spain to be closer to his family, so the idea of playing in LaLiga was of his liking since months ago, when the Culés contacted him to be part of the new project.

The culé team is still thinking about reinforcements, now in the position of fullback, and without leaving the 'blue' box. One of the targets was the also Spanish César Azpilicueta, but the Chelsea captain renewed this week with the Premier League side.

Meanwhile, the rumor about the Blue's negotiation now hovers over an Alonso who was not called up this Saturday in the league debut of Thomas Tuchel's team against Everton.

"Marcos Alonso has asked to leave, he wants to leave and the club has accepted it, that's why it didn't make sense for him to be on the pitch today," the German coach revealed in the post-match press conference following his side's 0-1 win.

How much would Barça pay for Alonso?

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two sides have reached an agreement: if Barcelona pay just under 10 million euros, the Spanish winger is theirs.
