Inter Miami has won 4-0 against Toronto FC in the fight week of the Major League Soccer with great goals by Facundo Farías, two made by Robert Taylor and Benjamin Cremaschi. Messi would make his return after the FIFA International Break for this matchup, nevertheless, the Argentinian astro had to be substituted in the minute 37’ due to an injury Messi suffered during the game.

Since Messi played with Argentina’s National Team vs Ecuador in the CONMEBOL qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, the number 10 suffered a minor injury on his left leg muscle that kept him away from any action.

In today’s match versus Toronto FC, Inter’s manager, Tata Martino activated Messi from the injury reserve list as he was ready to begin again with the MLS, but during the match he had to be sidelined. The Argentinian journalist, Gaston Edul, posted a tweet in his X account explaining what is going on with Messi’s injury.

Leo Messi did not play the last game with Argentina or against Atlanta Utd due to discomfort in his posterior muscle. Sometimes that area is loaded and he doesn't play to avoid injuries. This time he requested the change earlier than planned.” Gaston explained in a very short tweet.

What will happen to Messi?

It is believed that Messi’s injury on his left leg it’s only a matter of enough recovery time for the Argentinian astro. What it is sure, is that Messi will miss the Orlando Classic, where Inter Miami CF will face Orlando City SC and neither will be able to play next Wednesday against Houston Dynamo.
