Antony, the 22-year-old Brazilian star, has responded to Paul Scholes's criticism. The former Manchester United midfielder said that the youngster was a "clown". The Brazilian said vented on his social media accounts his thoughts on his critics. Antony has started six of Manchester United's thirteen Premier League games this season and has been a key player in their UEFA Europa League campaign

Antony has responded to Paul Scholes after the Manchester United legend criticised the Brazilian for showboating during last Thursday's game against Sheriff. The 22-year-old was seen attempting a trick during the first half of the game (when it was still tied with no goals) at Old Trafford, much to the frustration of Scholes who accused him of being "just a clown".

"We're known for our art," he vented on his social media. "I won't stop doing what got me to where I am". It remains to be seen whether Antony's comments will quell the criticism from Scholes or other pundits, but it is clear that he is not afraid to express himself on the pitch. But we need to remark that Erik ten Hag, Manchester United's manager didn't like that attitude either, so much that he substitute the winger for the second half of the game

Antony's truth and Scholes's comments

Scholes's exact words were as follows: "Does that do anything for himself? This country, any country even Brazil. They don't want to see that do they? I like to see skills and entertainment, I just don't think it's skill or entertainment it's just being a clown". Antony has made it clear that he will not be changing his playing style to fit in with Paul Scholes' criticisms, and we think that's a good thing. After all, Antony is one of the most talented footballers on the Red Devils roster and has proven his unique playing style is effective.
