Mauricio Pochettino arrived as a response to Chelsea's irregular performance last season. However, the start of this new campaign has not been the most encouraging. The London team was one of the clubs that spent the most money in the summer transfer market, but it has not been convincing so far this season. Now, the London club has decided to take action in this regard.

With Mauricio Pochettino as coach since the beginning of this season, the blue team has 3 victories (2 of them in the EFL Cup) in 8 games. In the Premier League, Chelsea is still closer to relegation than to European places. And the team continues to have a big problem when it comes to finishing and generating goals. In one year, and three market windows, Chelsea's spending has skyrocketed to exceed the €1,000 million barrier, an unthinkable figure but one that is not reporting benefits on the field. And, despite changing coaches on two occasions and being the team that spends the most, Chelsea's project is far from being considered a winner.

However, as The Guardian points out, the blue board's confidence in Mauricio Pochettino remains intact. Thus, leaving aside a superficial analysis, Chelsea have realized the changes in the game. Chelsea is in a moment of bad fortune, coupled with the pressure of having to win after the financial waste.

Total confidence in Pochettino

A situation that has soured the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge. But the English club is confident that Pochettino is the ideal profile to turn around the future blue. Thus, only time will confirm whether Chelsea's decision to trust the Argentine coach is the right one. Advanced statistics, for the moment, agree with Poche. The coach will have to continue working in the coming days to confirm if the club's decision has been correct.
