Neymar was presented as a king last week at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. According to L'Equipe, the Brazilian signed with Al-Hilal for around €90 million in a contract that amounts to approximately €100 million per year for two seasons.
The extravagant salaries in the Saudi Pro League have been a topic of discussion in recent days. Even players like Toni Kroos have expressed their opinions about the decisions of some players to move away from Europe in their prime soccer years and in such a young age.
Neymar is no exception in this case. After his presentation, the former PSG player was looking forward to making his debut with his new team in the Al-Hilal's draw against Al-Feiha last Saturday.
However, Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus stated in a press conference that Neymar arrived from Paris with a minor muscular injury, and therefore, it's unclear when he will make his debut. Jesus also expressed frustration about a situation related to the Brazilian player.
Due to Neymar's injury, the coach mentioned that he couldn't understand why 'Ney' had been called up to the Brazilian national team despite his injury. He pointed out that this could potentially hinder his recovery. With just two weeks at the club, fans will have to wait a little longer to see the Brazilian in action
