After FC Barcelona wasn’t able to win over Mallorca, Xavi had this to say

FC Barcelona tied against RCD Mallorca in the opening game of the seventh week of La Liga’s tournament, maintaining their undefeated streak but were unable to link up a new victory in order to keep getting further away from everyone else in the Spanish tournament, yet, Xavi was able to watch the performance of Fermin Lopez, Iñigo Martinez and Lamine Yamal.

It was a tough game for the Blaugrana’s team, Mallorca was always one step ahead of them, and when Barcelona tried to score the third and decisive point of the match, they faced an unbreakable defensive barricade, and leaving the game tied 2-2, with one point for each team.

Nevertheless, Barcelona keeps their undefeated streak and the leadership of La Liga’s standings, and also, this match was very useful to Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona’s head coach, as he was able to see the great potential and performances made by their “new” additions: Lamine Yamal, Iñigo Martinez and Fermin Lopez.

“Fermín Lopez and Lamine Yamal are very young. We have to take care of them, and not burn them.”, said Xavi Hernandez when asked about today's performance of both players and added, “Yamal played very well, he understood Raphinha's role on the pitch very well”.

What’s next for Barcelona?

Xavi’s team was able to keep their undefeated streak, but Mallorca may seem to have found a weakness on Barcelona’s squad, something that the culé team will have to improve in order to keep getting victories along the way. Also Xavi discovered the great potential of the new young players that were added on the summer window market.

Barcelona’s doesn’t have an easy schedule ahead: first they will go up against Sevilla (who won 5-1 vs Almeria) on Friday the 29th; their second appointment for the UEFA Champions League will be against Porto on October the 4th; and for the next La Liga’s week, will face Granada, who is almost at the bottom of the standings on the 19th place, just above Almeria.
