2020 was a very particular year from almost everyone in the world, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but even more for Raúl Jiménez. The attacker had an incredible end of 2019/20 season and start of the next campaign, being clearly one of the best Mexican strikers in the world.

The forward scored three goals in nine Premier League games and was, so far, the top-scorer of Wolverhampton on the most prestigious local league in Europe. He also scored a pair of international goals in the last two games that Mexico national team played in the FIFA international break.

But after all, Jiménez suffered a tremendous injury when he crashed his head against David Luiz, in the match in which Wolves defeated Arsenal. The player had to leave the field and was hospitalized, while his health was seriously at risk. Finally, doctors confirmed he suffered a skull fracture and, after all, he is already working in his comeback.

After such a year, Fútbol Picante Mexican TV show made a poll on Twitter to know who was the best Mexican player in the world during the 2020 being Jiménez, Hirving Lozano, Jesús Corona and Héctor Herrera the main candidates. After a couple of hours of vote, the one who was leading the poll was Jiménez.
