Javier Hernandez suffered a right calf injury that was not only a problem for the Los Angeles Galaxy, but is now also a concern for the entire MLS as his participation in the All-Star Game against Liga MX on August 25 in Los Angeles is practically ruled out, as well as the Skills Challenge.

"Javier is improving, he is working on the field, but he is still not ready to play a game," assured the Galaxy head coach who has not been able to count on Chicharito Hernandez in the last 10 MLS games. The Mexican striker's most recent appearance was on June 26 when he scored a brace against San Jose Earthquakes.

He does not see it convenient or easy for Chicharito Hernández to participate in the All-Star Game. "To be honest, it would be hard to see someone with 10 shutouts getting minutes in an All-Star Game," said the Galaxy coach. Thus, it is almost a fact another casualty in the All-Star Game as Liga MX will be without goalkeeper Jesús Corona, defender Fernando Navarro, midfielder Guido Pizarro and forward André-Pierre Gignac.

When will Chicharito play again?

Greg Vanney estimated that Chicharito Hernandez could return to play for the Galaxy on Saturday, August 28. "We have a small window of time for the next game (against Los Angeles FC) and an even bigger one for the one after that (Sept. 11 vs. Colorado Rapids); we're crossing our fingers that he can be in against LAFC and from there have time to get back to his best."
