Ramos’ departure

His departure from the spanish team was one of the most difficult moments of his career. The situation was reached due to inconveniences and lack of coordination with the team management. Here you can learn more about the Spanish league.

His contract expired on June 30 and the player had on the table an offer of renewal: one more year and the reduction of 10% of the salary. Ramos had asked for two years instead of just one, but as the club did not show signs of deciding, he finally accepted the initial proposal.

But when he decided, the club told him that it was already late. This ended up securing his move to PSG.

"I want to clarify that I have never wanted to leave, I have always wanted to stay, I go back to the League of confinement, that we won and celebrated it for the work it cost us”. He claimed that the club offered him the renewal but due to the pandemic everything was delayed, but he insisted that money was never a problem.

Ramos talked to the president and told him that it was a subject of years: he was offered one year while he wanted two.

Finally, the president of Real Madrid , Florentino Perez, spoke about the departure of Sergio Ramos and remarked that it was not an easy day when he left the team since he has been there for many years.

He also mentioned that Sergio Ramos has traced one of the most spectacular trajectories in the history of the club. As a special message for Ramos, he said “thank you for everything you have given for this team and for leaving your soul in every game".
