After three years of irregular minutes between the B team and the senior team, he joined Benfica in Portugal and was first assigned to the B team but was loaned out to Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. He played at Red Bull Salzburg for just one season before moving on loan again to Brondby in Norway, he made the move permanent later and spent three seasons before joining Nashville SC, becoming the club's first signing.
