Atlanta United needs an urgent reorganization. The last season, they started as strong candidates and ended up as one of the worst teams in the league. There was only one team considerably worse, Cincinnati. Now they have a new coach, but who is he? Can he get Atlanta out of this situation?
Gabriel Heinze is only 42 years old and his coaching experience is a little poor. He was a coach only in Argentina for Vélez, Argentinos Juniors and Godoy Cruz. He would have to adapt to the MLS but he demonstrated to be as good as Marcelo Bielsa, with strong and retailers’ methods that can make a team grow.
As a player, he was really well known in Europe. He made his debut at Newell’s Old Boys and three years later he signed for Real Valladolid. The, he played in Sporting Lisboa, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Olympique de Marsella and AS Roma. He has 10 trophies in all his career and a gold medal in the Olympics with Argentina.
He played alongside Lionel Messi several times in the International Team so he knows what is to be around stars. Atlanta United signed a really relevant coach that maybe has more experienced as a player, but he can easily manage a team and became one of the candidates for next season
