After to much rumors we can now confirm that Brenden Aaronson will move to FC Red Bull Salzburg in an historic transfer made for $6 million plus bonuses. The Philadelphia Union top class offensive midfielder will stay until the end of the 2020 MLS season, after an arrangement between clubs.

Aaronson is one of the most promising players from the MLS. In fact, this transfer transforms him into the highest transfer ever made for a U.S. homegrown player and the first academy player from Philadelphia Union to be sold to Europe.

Philadelphia Union will count on him for the last part of the season and will miss him too much next year. The team coached by Jim Curtin stands second in the Eastern Conference, after getting 35 point in 18 matches played, and will be facing their last five games of the regular season (against New England Revolution, Toronto, Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and New England, once again).

Aaronson proved his talent and his capacity since his very first time in the league. He played 51 games for Union's first team, scored seven goals and gave five assists. He also managed to make his debut for the USMNT on February 2020 in a friendly against Costa Rica. RB Salzburg will be a huge chance for of the most talented American youth players to grow.
