The MLS wants to reward anyone who has made a positive impact on his or her community during the coronavirus pandemic. That's why the league has created the Community MVP, a new award where fans can nominate other fans who deserves better recognition. Every franchise will select an MVP of their community, who will the face a final ballot to determine the MLS Community MVP.

Every individual selected by it's community as their finalist will earn $2,000 to donate to a charity cause of their choice, which can be placed anywhere around the United States.  In addition, every Community MVP will win a gift card for $100 on Adidas store, a jersey of his club with his name on, an official match ball and a drawstring Adidas bag.

The league wants every fan to nominate been working on the frontlines, like teachers, grocery store employees, truck drivers and, of course, healthcare workers and first responders. The only required issue to nominate someone is to make sure that he o she is an essential worker.

This initiative is powered by MLS Works, the social sector of the league. MLS Work presents very different ways to help the community and it is usual to see players from the league getting involved with this kind of initiatives, specially when they involve young children.
