After the dubious play where the referee did not even want to go see her at the VAR, the truth came to light.

LAFC's game against LA Galaxy brought a lot of controversy since LAFC's first goal could have been canceled by an alleged ball that had gone to the corner. The referee, together with the VAR, decided that there was no need to rewatch the play and validated the first LAFC goal. This generated a lot of anger in Barros Schelotto.

It could have been just any play, but when it ended in an LAFC goal, a simple corner became the most talked about play of the MLS date. Now the question is to know why the referee did not decide not to go to the VAR screen to confirm his decision. There is only one answer to this problem and the fault lies with the MLS owners.

In order to confirm that the ball has gone or not, many more cameras are needed than are available in the stadium. Remember that for the ball to be out of the field, it must come out completely, that is, if a small part of it is above the line, the play must continue. That happened in LAFC's play against LA Galaxy.

If we look in detail at the angle of the face we can see that it is almost impossible to confirm 100% that the ball is completely out of the court. For the same reason the referee made a correct decision to validate the goal. If MLS wants to end these controversial plays it will have to invest in many more cameras to help the VAR.
