Every streak comes to an end. But Portland Timbers scoring capacity made it look like it was impossible to beat them. At least, it made it look like the only way to defeat them was to score to many goals, because preventing them from scoring wasn't an option. But the Real Salt Like City FC had other plans and stopped Timbers five-game winning streak.

It wasn't that much of a great game. In fact, it was pretty boring. Something unusual for the MLS, were it's common to watch games full of goals and defensive mistakes. This wasn't the case. It was just a bad game where the Timbers weren't able at any point to remember how to score. And RSL did everything they had to.

Back in August, RSL had already be a headache for the Timbers after coming back from a 4-2 deficit and equalizing a game 4-4. This time, the headache came in the form of drying out the Wolves offense. Felipe Mora's three game scoring streak came to and end too, while Jeremy Ebobisse and Diego Valeri's game was flat. Nothing to see here.

For RSL the triumph was finding  milk in the dessert. The were carrying a four-game losing streak, and indeed staying on playoffs positions depended only on winning. At the same time, even after this three points, Real Salt Lake City's situation keeps critical, as they trail the playoffs spots zone but with Vancouver totalizing the same amount of points.
