Mitrita's departure from New York City FC surprised all New York and MLS fans but NYCFC did so with the future of the club in mind. Mitrita's designated player vacancy at NYCFC opens up the possibility for the club to hire one of the free figures in the soccer world. Everyone in New York is very excited about this possibility

Mezut Ozil, without a place in Arsenal, is one of the figures who I affirm that he wants to play in the MLS and would arrive as the designated player to any team. NYCFC knows that there are many players of Ozil's level who want to go to MLS and for that reason they would have let the Romanian forward go to Arab soccer.

Mitrita had come to NYCFC for a millionaire figure of 8.8 million dollars and after less than two seasons in NYCFC he was loaned to soccer in Arabia. The NYCFC coach had said that Mitrita was no longer a starter in the team and that he did not add so many goals to the team so a loan was the best for all parties.

NYCFC awaits the next few days news about a new player who arrives to face the playoffs. NYCFC is in fifth position in the MLS Eastern Conference, just four points behind third. New York City FC's goal for this season is to make the playoffs among the top four in the MLS Eastern Conference.
