The three keys to why the United States is one of the favorite to win the Golden Cup

After the groups were raffled for the Golden Cup 2021, the United States team was again nominated to win the title that they could not obtain in the last edition after losing to Mexico in the final 1-0. The United States will share a group with Canada, Martinique and a selection that will come out of the Golden Cup Qualification.

In the first place, what indicates that the United States will be a firm candidate for the Golden Cup is the good present of its star players in Europe. Players like Pulisic playing in Chelsea, McKennie in Juventus or Dest, who was recently transferred to FC Barcelona, are having a great presence in their teams, so if they manage to play that way for the United States it will be very difficult to beat them.

Another advantage is the teams that play against in the first round as US is far superior to all. Canada is the team that can do the most damage to the United States, but in the last match they beat it comfortably 4 to 1. With the other two teams in the gruop it shouldn't have any complications since it is much superior in ranking and game. The United States is currently ranked 23rd in FIFA ranking.

Finally, Coach Gregg Berhalter seems to have found the best way to play, which has been demonstrated in the last games of the American team. Of the 18 games they played in 2019, they only lost five and won eleven of them. They also fell only by a goal to zero in the last final of the Golden Cup against Mexico in a great game made by the United States team.
