United States National Team coach Gregg Berhalter contacted FC Midtjylland player Jens Cajuste in the last few hours to stop representing Sweden and play for the USNT. The coach would have convinced him by telling him that he would share the midfield with Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie.
Jens Cajuste has a difficult decision as he must choose between representing Sweden or playing for USNT. The future of the United States is very promising and the United States Soccer Federation would have promised him that if he plays for USNT he will be one of the players who can be part of the team in the 2026 USA World Cup.
Cajuste, who is currently 21 years old, has played for the Swedish youth divisions but having parents born in the United States still has time to change his nationality. The United States federation has called him to tell him that if he wanted he would be called up for the next USNT U23 friendlies.
The United States is putting together a dream team of young players with the aim of having a more than competitive team for the 2026 World Cup since, together with Canada and Mexico, they will be the organizers. Coach Berhalter is very enthusiastic about the team that USNT is putting together for the 2026 World Cup.
