Atlanta United FC together with the Atlanta Falcons presented a novel method to disinfect the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They will use drones that disinfect the entire stadium in less time than if it were done by people. MLS is surprised by the idea put forward by Atlanta United and hopes other teams will copy their idea.

Atlanta United will only be able to use their stadium on October 24 as it will be the first game they can play out of nowhere after they try this method. Atlanta United is currently seventh in the Eastern Conference and needs to start winning if it wants to rest easy on its way to the playoffs.

The capacity of the Atlanta stadium is for 70,000 spectators. Although due to sanitary measures the capacity will be less, it is not known exactly how much is the number that will be allowed. They estimate that at the same time there will be 600 health posts so that people can take care of Covid 19.

Two drones will be used to disinfect the Mercedes-Benz Stadium by 95%, which will reduce the time by 70%. This disinfection technique will be used for the first time by the Falcons on October 11 when they host Carolina Panthers. Atlanta United will benefit from sharing the stadium with the NFL team.
