Ronny Delia’s team had a really hard match against Columbus, but the Crew was also on a bad moment, they could not win any of the last four matches. New York City played a really complete match with a lot of chances created, but the effectiveness of Columbus was lethal.

Sean Johnson had a good match with six saves, but that was not enough to stop the Crew and their possession game. The defense of NYC was really limited by the aggressive way to play on Caleb Porter’s team, but the attackers had several chances to score and they could not get credit for them.

New York City ended up the game with 17 shots, six of them on goal, but they struggle to much to score. If the team were more precise on the last part of the pitch, they would have scored more than once. The goal from Valentin Castellanos came from a corner kick and not from team move.

With this defeat, NYC has only won 1 point of the last 9 possible. Fans are really worried about the lack of goal and the team is only two points ahead of getting to the seventh spot on the table, which means no direct qualification to the Playoffs. This problem of effectiveness will cost a lot to the team.
