Beyond the result and the bad game against Atlanta United, it was a night where everything went wrong for DC United. The poor inclusion of player Russell Canouse made DC United lose the possibility of making all 5 substitutions. Someone at DC United forgot to put Canouse on the game list.

DC United coach Ben Olsen had decided to let Canouse come in after halftime, but 2 minutes after the game started again the referees realized the player's poor inclusion. After 8 minutes of discussion Canouse had to leave the game and DC United luckily for Olsen the team did not receive any sanction.

Although I do not suffer any sanction at the moment, FIFA rules that if a player plays and is not listed on the list, he will lose the match and will be charged a financial fine. Ben Olsen said it was not his fault and to investigate where the error was so that Canouse cannot play.

In place of Canouse was Earl Edwards Jr, DC United's third goalkeeper. Likewise, this problem will remain as an anecdote since DC United cannot get out of its bad streak. Atlanta United took advantage of DC United's bad moment and beat him 4-0.
