Deportivo Guadalajara played against Cruz Azul this weekend and Chivas needed the three points to dream about a direct qualification to the Playoffs. Roberto Siboldi’s team broke that dream and left Victor Vucetich’s squad with a lot of questions for the rest of the season.
One of these doubts is the role of Eduardo Lopez, who play really poorly on such an important match. Fans are saying that he has no longer the level to play in big clubs like Chivas and he should leave. He barely touches the ball and when he did, he made the wrong choices.
Lopez played eight straight seasons at Chivas and these last two were his worst. In a total of 122 appearances, he scored less than 20 goals and to the fans, that is not enough. Where would he go? Chivas do not want to improve another Mexico team, but maybe it is for the best.
La Chofis could go to a team where he has less pressure like Mazatlán on a loan and then come back feeling more confident. If Guadalajara is not his place, he should find a team where he is comfortable because he is only 26 years old and has a lot of potential left.
