Cristian Pavón was one of the few positive things of Los Angeles Galaxy this year. They ended up eight points away from the first playoff position of the Western Conference, really a failure. The Argentinian was top5 at the goal-scorer leaders due to the inefficiency of Chicharito Hernandez.
Although, Galaxy is thinking on a reorganization and Pavon’s contract says that they would have to play almost $20 million dollars to buy him, so it is really likely for him to return to Boca Juniors. The team is already looking for a replacement and the main name is another Argentinian.
We are talking about Cristian Espinoza. Now he is playing at SJ Earthquakes and he is really similar in Pavon, same age and same position. With 9 assists this season, he was top4 of the table of assistants and the 3 players above him have only 1 more. Is he the playmaker that Galaxy needs?
They would lose some goal potential, but they would get a player that makes the striker scorer, something that the Galaxy could not get with Chicharito Hernandez, who will also leave probably. They could get this new winger for less than $10 million so it is a really strong option.
