Los Angeles Football Club decided to renew Carlos Vela until the 2023 season. News that made fans happy since he is the best player in the history of the MLS franchise.

Vela's contract ended in 2022, but the directors decided to renew the Mexican striker for one more year. The reason is the good numbers that he has within the club.

Carlos Vela rejected offers from Liga MX to continue in MLS. The condition that the Mexican put on LAFC was to continue as Designated Player.

"Carlos has been an integral part of LAFC's success on and off the field from the beginning," co-chairman and general manager John Thorrington said in a statement.

By continuing as Designated Player, Carlos Vela will once again be the highest paid in Los Angeles FC. With this, the Mexican confirms how important he is for his club.
