"Together, Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC stand against systemic racism. We must speak out and take action against racial discrimination. Together, we can be a force for positive change," they announcer said. Then the starters from both teams knelt down on the pitch.

Both clubs agreed to make a banner and send the message so that their followers and those of Major League Soccer are aware and ask for a stop to acts of discrimination and racial violence.

However, the players were not the only ones to send the message, as the referee quartet joined the act of protest by holding a banner that read the same legend "enough is enough".
