The San José Earthquakes is in a serious crisis. The team is in last place in the Western Conference and they are looking for a coach to get out of this bad moment, since they are in the second part of the MLS season.

ESPN reports that Landon Donovan is gaining strength as one of the possible candidates to be the new coach of the San José Earthquakes, who are looking for a general manager after the departure of Argentine Matías Almeyda.
Alex Covelo is the interim coach and is one of the candidates to keep the job, while Landon Donovan gathers strength to return to work at the San José Earthquakes.
Currently Landon Donovan continues as coach of the San Diego Loyal of the USL, a team that remains in third place in the Western Conference after 19 games played.
Donovan, if hired, would experience his second stage at San Jose, a team in which he was a player and where he won two MLS championships.
