The MLS has launched a new elite development platform for US standouts.  

Day after day, the MLS makes it clear that it's intention is not just to be an exotic league, but a competitive one. First, they stopped buying just world class-top players that had decreased their level and wanted to pass to a less demanding football and started to bring also young promising players from around the world. And now they want to give one more step: the have found the MLS Next, an enormous development project.

The MLS Next is a new elite youth program to develop promising standouts. The platform will look to link almost 489 different teams around the country from 113 clubs to unify the training criteria in six different age groups. Plus, the MLS Next will held a competition between the different teams. 

The MLS Next will try to avoid flights as much as they can during the tournament, so many local rivalries will be held, to be played in neutral fields and with total coordination of the program executives. The six age groups that composed the program are U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19. 

The MLS Next championship schedule haven't been realized already and it will be uncovered in the next four weeks. Also, during the championship, and specially during the national stages of the tournaments, MLS Next executives will be measuring the players physically and technically to made the talents evolve. MLS leaders believe that, in the next ten years, they will be seeing the results of this work, even on their national squad.
