The 5 MLS stars that went to play to Europe: Weston McKennie, Konrad de la Fuente and more

MLS has enjoyed a huge growth in the last seasons, with teams like Los Angeles FC reaching the final of the last Concacaf Champions League. However, the big success from the league was to promote more and more talents to the most important tournaments in European soccer.

The biggest name, without much doubt, is Christian Pulisic. after emerging in bundesliga's Borussia Dortmund the 22-year-old was transferred for a whole lot of money to Chelsea. He's one of the most used backups by former coach Frank Lampard and the just signed Thomas Tuchel.

Another European giant, despite not currently having the best of the seasons is FC Barcelona from the Spanish La Liga. In the last transfer market, the club signed right back Sergiño Dest who was playing in the Dutch Eredivisie. He was born and raised in the Netherlands but adopted the American nationality and is already key parts of the national team.

In the last summer transfer market, Juventus signed Schalke 04’ sensation Weston McKennie. He has become the first player from the USA to make his debut in the club. Shortly after being summoned to Turin by coach Andrea Pirlo, he quickly established himself as part of the starting XI alongside the Uruguayan prospect Rodrigo Bentancur.

Konrad De la Fuente was the first player from the United States to play for Barcelona, making his debut on Saturday September 12th, just one day before McKennie did so for Juventus. De la Fuente has recently extended his contract two 2020 two with the release close of €50 million ($60.5 million).

Last, but not least, is Tyler Adams. He was promoted through the whole Red Bull school. He started playing for the Red Bull New York in the MLS and later moved to the German counterpart RB Leipzig. With the Bundesliga side he scored a goal against Atlético de Madridto move onto the UEFA Champions League semifinal.
