Preseravationist are denouncing the intentions of the St. Louis City owners to demolish buildings to build a parking lot for franchise employees. Although it is not about historical buildings, the controversy has already been unleashed and they seek to change their thinking before starting the works.

However, none of the buildings are declared historic. Despite this, those who want the decision to be analyzed again, argue that it is another loss of the identity of the culture that this area has.

To make matter worse the structures will be replaced by surface parking, which downtown residents and boosters have long complained about is too prevalent.
