Major League Soccer expansion team St. Louis City has set a league record for season-ticket deposits despite the team starting to compete in 2023.

During the first 15 minutes of sale, St. Louis City received 30,000 season ticket deposits, while in the first 24 hours the number of 50,000 deposits was recorded. Fans were able to reserve up to eight seats, with deposits starting at $ 50. The club's proposed Downtown West stadium will have a capacity of 22,500 seats, with multiple seats available for individual match day tickets.

“Once again, I am in awe of our fans, supporters and community, and how they continue to gather around the city,” said City of St. Louis Executive Director Carolyn Kindle Betz in a statement. “This is just another testament to why I love St. Louis so much. When given the opportunity, our region shows the rest of the nation why we are a force to be reckoned with.

The previous record for MLS season tickets was set by expansion team Austin FC which will begin to compete in Major League Soccer from the 2021 season.
