See the top scorers in Major League Soccer in 2021

The race for the MLS 2021 season golden boot is heating up with just four goals separating Ola Kamara in number one and Hany Mukhtar in number five. It's too close to predict who will be the top scorer at the end of the season but below are the top five goalscorers.

Ola Kamara  - DC United 16 goals

The Oslo born Norwegian centre forward Ola Kamara is the MLS highest goalscorer despite playing the lesser number of games among others on the list. He has played just 19 games for his club DC United and has contributed to 19 goals with 16 goals and provided three assists for his teammates. At 31, he's a full Norway international and has spent most of his playing career in his native Norway as well as in America. He also had a brief spell on loan in Germany with 1860 Munich. 

Raúl Ruidáz - Seattle Sounders 14 goals

Seattle Sounders striker Raul Ruidaz is the second player on the list of Major League Soccer top scorers. The Peru international has scored 14 goals in 23 games this season. He is 31 years old just like the top scorer Ola Kamara. He has spent most of his playing careers playing in North America and South America leagues. He's a full Peru international since 2011 and has 50 appearances, scoring four goals.

Valentín Castellanos - New York City FC 13 goals

New York City FC striker Valentin Castellanos at 22years old is the youngest player in the list of top five top scorers of Major League Soccer and has been one of the most standout performers in the league this season. He has contributed to 20 goals in 25 games. He has scored 13 goals and also chipped in seven assists for his teammates. He has played in Chile and Uruguay before moving to the MLS in 2019. He's not yet a full Argentine international and plays for the U23.

Dániel Sallói - Sporting KC 13 goals

25 year old Hungarian international Daniel Salloi is another standout performer in the Major League Soccer this season. He plays for Sporting Kansas City and has been good for the club this season. He has contributed to 19 goals (13 goals and six assists) in 23 games. He has spent most of his playing career so far in his native Hungary despite joining Sportinf KC in 2016, he has gone back to Hungary a few times on loan before becoming a first team regular this season. He made his national team debut this year.

Hany Mukhtar - Nashville FC 12 goals

The German attacking midfielder Hany Mukhtar has had a career of up and down and has played for clubs in Germany, Austria, Norway and currently plays for Nashville FC in Major League Soccer. He has turned out an impressive 21 goals contribution with 12 goals and assists in 24 matches for his club. He has played for Germany at all youth levels but has never played a senior match and is unlikely to at 26years old and playing away from Europe.
