Seattle Sounders FC would lose a future star: Sam Rogers to Leganés?

At the weekend it was announced that Sam Rogers was heading to Spain. Leganés, a team from the second division of that country would be his destination. Garth Lagerwey assured that the central defender was leaving but only to be tested. Rogers has been a regular for Sounders USL side Tacoma Defiance since 2017.

Garth Lagerwey explained with detail this situation to clear doubts. "Sam is on trial. He's going to go over there. He's getting an opportunity. This is something he did last summer as well when he went to Belgium.", said the General Manager of the franchise on Sounders Weekly.

Lagerwey thinks it is fair for Rogers to have this chance: "We are going to try to get them opportunities with other first teams. We wish Sam the best and hopefully the trial will go well and then maybe he'll have an opportunity there".
