Atlanta United announced on March 21 that it had signed Mexican striker Ronaldo Cisneros. The forward from Torreon is on loan from Chivas de Guadalajara. The former player of Tapatio, Chivas' subsidiary team for the Liga de Expansion, has adapted well to the team of the 5 Stripes and, in much less time, has even done more than Jürgen Damm, former player of Pachuca and Tigres, who for two seasons played for the MLS outfit.

Forward Ronaldo Cisneros is living one of the best moments of his career and just a few weeks after joining Atlanta United and scoring his first goal against Inter Miami on April 24, he scored again with a hat trick against Chicago Fire.

This was the fifth game for the Mexican striker, who, since his debut, has begun to earn a starting place with the team. The match against Chicago Fire was the fifth he has played in MLS and he has already scored 4 goals, surpassing Jürgen Damm who in 27 matches played in two seasons only scored one goal, facts that made him not count for Gonzalo Pineda for the current season.

Damm arrived as a designated player and did not meet expectations, so Atlanta wanted to get rid of that label, but the player, still under contract, refused to lower his salary, a situation that led to his separation from the first team. Now, Damm is training in the youth academies, receiving the same salary but not being part of Atlanta's first team.

Cisneros hat trick

The 25-year-old striker became the hero of the night in less than 40 minutes, scoring three goals in that time to give the team coached by former Guadalajara player Gonzalo Pineda the victory in the match corresponding to Week 10.

Cisneros showed his ability to isolate himself from the marking of defenders, as his three goals on Saturday were scored in this way, the first by beating his markers to receive a filtered pass and finishing in front of the visiting goalkeeper.

The second goal was due to his good positioning since, after a cross-shot that the goalkeeper deflected, Ronaldo was on time to push the ball into the back of the net.

The Mexican's third goal came after once again beating the defenders' backs, receiving an unmarked ball, and taking the time to score the goalkeeper out of his area.

The striker will look to convince Atlanta of his services

The former Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara striker arrived on loan on July 7 with an option to extend the agreement until the end of the 2022 season and a purchase option.

The Mexican had six months without scoring, as his last goal was with Chivas on October 17, 2021.
