Inter Miami wants to add some fresh faces ahead of the new season as the club look to reach the playoffs in order to make a strong push for the MLS title. After the recent arrival of Luis Suarez, they look to have set their sights on two Boca Juniors players: defender Marcos Rojo and Cristian Medina.

Leo Messi himself and coach Tata Martino reportedly called Rojo to try to convince the former Manchester United player to play in Miami next season. However, according to Clarín, the player rejected the offer from David Beckham's team.

"I'm staying here," Rojo is said to have told Juan Roman Riquelme, Boca's boss, in a WhatsApp message, thus informing the Boca world that he will respect the contract that binds him to the La Ribera club, which will expire in December 2025.

The message not only rules out a move to Inter Miami, but also closes the door to the offer Rojo had received from Palmeiras in Brazil. Management are said to have told Rojo that they will look to put together a team that will see Boca be competitive in all competitions in 2024, despite not having qualified to play in the Copa Libertadores.
