Manchester United would have to buy out Paul Pogba from his current contract if he was to leave Old Trafford this season. The French midfielder's future is in the air as he has not committed to fresh terms despite less than 1 year left on his current deal.

In the event that Manchester United decides to move on the World Cup winner this summer, the English club would have to pay the midfielder his £290,000 weekly wages for the remainder of his contract. This would come to a little over £15m for the year. United activated a one-year extension in the player's previous contract last October.

Paul Pogba has so far rejected Manchester United's advances to extend his stay with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United was rumoured to have offered the French international up to £400,000 in weekly wages, a figure that would have made him the highest earner in the EPL. However, the club's hierarchy are thought to be ready to sell him this summer to prevent him from leaving the club for free for a second time.

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and interestingly, Liverpool are the club's rumoured to be interested in signing the French player. PSG is thought to be Pogba's preferred destination. He would join an ambitious project by the oil-rich club in their quest to win the UEFA Champions League for the first time. PSG achieved their best result in the competition in 2020 when they got to the final in Lisbon but lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
