If they want to come out from a three-match losing streak, Real Salt Lake players will have to beat Portland Timbers this Wednesday in Sandy, Utah. However, it won't be easy: Real Salt Lake hasn't won a game since September 23, in the victory 2-0 against Los Angeles Galaxy, which is in the bottom of the Western Conference. Besides, the Real Salt Lake game against Colorado Rapids scheduled for Sunday was cancelled due to cases of coronavirus among Rapids players.

The team led by Freddy Juarez is in 11th place in the standings with a record of four wins, six draws and seven losses. They have 18 points, 22 goals scored and 28 conceded. What is more, Giuseppe Rossi, Nedum Onuoha, Christopher Garcia and Everton Luiz are injured, so they will not be able to play the game against Portland Timbers. 

On the other hand, the squad coached by Giovanni Savarese is in second position with 30 points, the same amount as the leader Seattle Sounders. They have won the last five games and haven't lost since September 14, in the 4-2 against Los Angeles Galaxy. Besides, they have 9-4-3 record with 36 goals scored and 27 goals conceded.

Real Salt Lake and Portland Timbers have faced each other 29 times. Timbers has won the game 12 times, while Real Salt Lake has obtained a victory nine times. Besides, they drew seven games. The last time they confronted each other, they played out an exciting 4-4 draw.
