Paris Saint-Germain fans will have to wait a little longer before they can see a new signing, Lionel Messi in action for the club. PSG coach, Mauricio Pochettino has all but confirmed that the Argentine would be strutting his stuff for French giants this month. According to Pochettino, Messi is expected to make his debut in the away game against Stade de Reims.

The PSG tactician explained that this week has been a good one for Messi and if he maintains the same level, then he could make his debut against Reims in  PSG will take on Reims on Saturday 29th July at the Stade Auguste Delaune. PSG fans were disappointed yesterday when Pochettino chose to not field the 6-time Ballon d'Or winner for his debut in the 4-2 win against Brest.

Lionel Messi has been training with the PSG squad for a week now and he seems to have made progress. The Argentine captain had gone one month without training after he led Argentina to Copa America victory in Brazil. On the back of completing his extraordinary transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, he lacked match fitness and had to be eased now. Now, he'll hope to make his competitive bow on Saturday.

Pochettino also disclosed that he would not discourage Messi or any of his players from going on international duty after next weekend's matches. This means that if Messi doesn't make his debut in the away game against Stade de Reims, fans would have to wait another 2 weeks to see him play. The next Ligue 1 match would be against Clermont on September 12th at the Parc des Princes.
