It was said just in this pages that after Saipher Taider's transfer to Saudi Arabia it was obvious that Montreal Impact's season is over. Don't get me wrong: it's still possible that the Impact make it to the post season. I doubt it, though, but it's possible. Neither way, the season for them is pointless already, as their sporting director, Olivier Renard, said today.

The Belgium executive said that the Impact is already working to have a successful season in 2021. Not a very motivating message to the players when they are going to the hardest times and giving their best to make it to the playoffs. People turn to forget that this same players had to left their houses in Canadá and have lived with their families in hotel bedrooms all year. That has been tough enough.

I mean: the players already know the season is pointless. In fact, they knew it before the rest of the organization. They could feel it. But they certainly don't need their sporting director telling the media that their efforts are pointless. That's selfish from Renad, and totally unmindful.

The Ugandan fullback Mustafa Kizza will be ready to play next week. Definitely not enough. Renard hadn't understand how disrespectful his comments have been towards the players. It may cost him: or many players will leave, or he will be invited to renounce. In the middle there is this one thing that could certainly help for both having a better season in 2021 and propel the team right now: firing Thierry Henry.
