Although this Sunday, November 7, the 2021 regular season of Major League Soccer (MLS) ends, to then give way to the Playoffs, the American league has officially presented the details that the next tournament will have in 2022, with several new features.

The main one will be the official entry into the competition of Charlotte FC, the last franchise to join, causing a series of changes in the conformation of the Conferences, since the North Carolina squad will play in the East, moving to the West to Nashville SC.

Taking into account, in addition, that the next MLS season must end before November 21, as a result of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, it was decided to modify the starting days of the contest, as well as the start of the Playoffs and the definition of the MLS Cup.

Starting this new season, we will once again have a number of even teams in the competition, with 14 frames for each zone, with the modification indicated from Nashville to the Western Conference, leaving the debutant Charlotte in the East.

The next MLS contest already has a set date for its start: Saturday, February 26, and the regular season will run until Sunday, October 9, where Decision Day will be held; Thus, the Playoffs will begin to be played from the 16th of that month, leaving the Grand Final of the tournament for Saturday, November 5, 2022.
