After Zlatan Ibrahimovic's declarations after declaring himself the best player to ever play in MLS, there have been many responses and reactions to the Swede, so MLS consulted journalist Greg Seltzer, who named the 10 best players to ever play in the U.S. soccer league.

There are many criteria that could be used to name the best players that Major League Soccer has seen, such as their career achievements, their individual awards, what they did in the US league itself, among others.

The Italian player came to MLS to eclipse the league, the spotlight was always on him and he helped Toronto FC to win the historic treble of the Canadian team.

Thierry Henry

The French player was one of the best signings the league has ever made, his world-class play gave the Red Bulls their first Shield.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Swede is one of the stars that attracts attention around the world, he arrived at 36 years of age to the league, but his goals are the key to make LA Galaxy one of the most dangerous teams in MLS.

Robbie Keane

During his time with the LA Galaxy, the Irishman helped the team win three MLS Cups and a Supporters Shield.

Kasey Keller

Keller is one of the best goalkeepers to have ever walked this league, his career in Europe and with the U.S. national team was excellent. At the age of 39 he came to Seattle Sounders, won three U.S. Open Cup victories and won Goalkeeper of the Year in his farewell season.

Josef Martinez

The Venezuelan is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in MLS. Atlanta United brought in a goal poacher who helped the team lift the title in 2018, he was also awarded the MVP and Golden Boot.

Carlos Valderrama

Valderrama was the league's first MVP, plus he will be imprinted in the history books for the 26 assists he provided in the 2000 season.
