MLS teams react to ruling against Derek Chauvin for George Floyd's death

As it happened with the NBA, one of the competitions that had massive demonstrations against the death of George Floyd was Major League Soccer (MLS), and after hearing the sentence against the police officer Derek Chauvin for the death of the African-American citizen, the teams and even the league itself spoke about it.

Through a statement, the organization expressed that they are united "to unequivocally condemn violence, discrimination and hatred in all its destructive forms and stands in solidarity with the family and friends of George Floyd, the Afro-descendant community and its allies".

While one of the MLS teams with the most Latino fans, such as the Los Angeles Galaxy, through social networks stressed its union with the Black Lives Matter movement, and expressed that "although nothing can provide the true justice of returning a human life snatched away violently, the verdict offers an opportunity for healing".

To all of them, the United States National Team joined, which on Twitter stated that "the verdict is justice for George Floyd's family. However, it does not alleviate the anguish or represent the closure; in fact, the ruling serves as a reminder that we all have a responsibility to challenge and end systemic racism, discrimination and hatred".
