As previously discussed on this page, Europe has set its eyes on MLS. At first, it seemed that players and coaches were on the signing list of many clubs in Europe. However, the most recent news concerning the New York City Football Club involves its former academy sports director.

This is Liam Manning, who recently was the sports director of academies at New York City Football Club. Today he becomes the first coach of K.V.S.K. United Overpelt-Lommel, a team of Belgian First Division B.

Despite being a second division club in Belgium, it will be an excellent experience for Liam Manning, moving from sports director of academies at New York City Football Club to coach of K.V.S.K. United Overpelt-Lommel. This is clear proof that European football is attentive to MLS.
