The Major League Soccer from the United States has been gaining power during the last years as one of the most competitive leagues of the continent. The arrival of top players and head coaches, due to the huge investment and the good financial situation of the clubs, made this change possible.
2021 will mark the start of the 26th season of the MLS with teams from both U.S. and Canada competing for the title. The exact date marked for the start of the event hasn’t yet been revealed, even though it was confirmed by the deputy commissioner of the league Martk Abbott that it will occur on March 2021.
The season will include the participation for the first time of Austin F.C., a franchise that will be adding to complete a league with 27 total teams. Last year had to very strange competitions in the calendar year, due to the resumption of the league of the first part of the year in a bubble on Disney.
In the second part of the year, Columbus Crew ended as the great winners after achieving the MLS Cup defeating Seattle Sounders FC on the final game. During the regular season, Philadelphia Union ended first on the Eastern Conference and Sporting Kansas City did so on the Western Conference.
