LAFC is getting to the end of a good regular season. The MLS side lost in one of the last games of this phase of the tournament 3-2 against San Jose Earthquakes. Nevertheless, there were some reasons to celebrate for them, even though they suffered a defeat (the first one in four games).

The reason to feast despite the loss is that Diego Rossi scored, and he is now the clearest candidate to win the Golden Boot. The Uruguayan striker received a great assist from Carlos Vela and could net his 14th goal so far this season. The goal gives him more chances to end as the MLS top-scorer.

Rossi is just 22 years old and is fighting for the award against some of the other candidates, such as Gyasi Zardes (11) or Robert Beric (11). He had a disadvantage, that it is that he was call-up for Uruguay national team and lost some games that were very important.

The arrival from Rossi to the MLS happened on January 2018, when LAFC convinced and paid more than $3 million to Peñarol Uruguayan former side to sign him. After more than two years his reported value has increased to more than $20 million, and he is now the top-scorer of the whole MLS.
