The California team is currently in third place in the Western Conference with 35 points, 4 points behind the leader, Seattle Sounders, after 11 wins, 2 ties and 7 losses. They need to win to stay in the fight for a playoff spot.

After beating Minnesota FC, the LA Galaxy fell 2-1 on the road to a Colorado Rapids side that outplayed Los Angeles. Tuesday at Dignity Health Sports Park. However, the strangest part of the match occurred when some LA Galaxy fans went silent in protest in the first 45 minutes of the game.

Prior to the match, the Galaxy's major fan bases announced on social media that they would remain silent because of the excessive use of force coordinated by DHSP security, the LA Galaxy office, who acted to remove fans and street vendors from the parking lot during the post-game celebration on Sunday. In the last match played by these teams on June 26 at PayPal Park, LA Galaxy won 3-1 with two goals from Javier Hernandez.
