After his failed stint in European football at Leganes, Javier “Vasco” Aguirre wants to continue his career away from Liga MX. The Mexican coach is looking for a new club and he affirmed that he has already rejected several offers of Liga MX teams since it is a league that he is not interested in and that he does not follow on a daily basis. For Aguirre, it would be hypocritical to direct in the MX League since he does not know the players in the league.

According to Aguirre, Liga MX is a league that is not made for long-term projects, so it stays in time. Comparing Liga MX with MLS, Aguirre said that in MLS it is a pleasure to see how teams aim for a long-term coach and that in that way they can work in a safe and calm way.

Aguirre gave the example of the Almeyda SJ Earthquakes team, since in 2 games they had scored more than 10 goals. After those defeats, Almeyda continued in his work position and after several dates he recovered his good level and returned to win 3 games in a row. What happened in MLS would be impossible in a league like Liga MX.

In the same vein, Aguirre said that he had offers to direct in MLS and in Japan but that the clubs decided on another option. Likewise, Aguirre says he is talking to some people in MLS to be able to coach in the 2021 season. It would be an honor for MLS to have Aguirre on one of their teams.
