It became official the arrival of Kacper Przybylko to Chicago Fire FC in a $1 million-plus GAM move, meaning the Philadelphia Union's undisputed starter will leave the team he played for since 2019.

The move arranged by the Fire and the Union consisted of the latter agreeing to receive $575,000 in GAM this 2022, while in 2023 they will receive the other $575,000 also in GAM, so the player's transfer had a total cost of $1,150,000 in GAM

Thus Kacper Przybylko comes to Chicago Fire FC on a contract that will last until 2023, but both teams are currently discussing a new contract that would not be a Designated Player agreement, according to sources consulted by MLSsoccer.com.

While this second deal is being worked out, the player has already been introduced to his new club with an official statement and different videos on the club's social networks celebrating the arrival of the former Philadelphia Union player.

Przybylko's arrival at Chicago Fire FC was celebrated by both club's management

Kacper Przybylko and his arrival at Chicago Fire FC have caused much celebration by those who hold the reins of the Red Machine team, who could not hide their excitement at this event.

For example, the club's sporting director, George Heitz said in a statement: "We're very pleased to add a player of Kacper's caliber to our roster."

He further added: "Going into the offseason, we wanted to sign a top attacking player with MLS experience and Kacper has been one of the most effective goal-scorers in this league over the last three seasons. With his physical attributes and knack for scoring goals, we believe that he will be a great addition as we continue to build a talented roster for 2022 and beyond. We look forward to welcoming him and his family to the club".

And Heitz was not the only one celebrating the arrival of the Polish-German striker, as Philadelphia Union sporting director Ernst Tanner wished his now-former player well

Tanner said in a press release: "We want to thank Kacper for his efforts on and off the field with the Philadelphia Union. He has played a major role in some of the Union's most memorable moments over the last few years and we wish him all the best as we continue to look to strengthen and add depth to our roster in the coming weeks”.

Kacper Przybylko's numbers with Philadelphia Union

With more than 35 goals and 14 assists in 83 MLS regular-season games, Kacper Przybylko has become one of the team's benchmarks.

And one of his greatest accomplishments has been being a key part of Philadelphia's bid to win the 2020 Supporters' Shield, as well as leading the team to a 2021 CONCACAF Champions League semifinal berth.

Since his arrival in Major League Soccer at the end of 2018, Przybylko ranks third with the most goals scored, behind only Atlanta United forward Josef Martinez with 38 and Seattle Sounders FC forward Raul Ruidíaz with 37.
