Carlos Vela is one of the best players currently in Major League Soccer and his salary reflects it.
The 2022 MLS season is underway and Carlos Vela started as captain for Los Angeles FC, he underwent a contract renewal where the conditions would change. His signing was historic as was his salary, this placed him on the list of the highest paid players in the entire league.
The striker joined the team with a salary of 6 million dollars, but in his most recent renewal the club offered him another amount, which he accepted, so he will stay in Los Angeles FC for one more season.

In 2022, as part of a transparency measure coming from the Players Association, the highest paid players in Major League Soccer were announced, among them Carlos Vela, who suffered a reduction from his previous contract. The Mexican, who was the second highest paid player in MLS earning 6 million dollars, will now receive 4 million dollars for this season.
It is worth mentioning that Carlos Vela expected to renew for three more seasons with the team, but the club only offered him one more, despite receiving offers from other teams and also from Liga MX, the player decided to continue with the intention of being champion with Los Angeles FC.
"I said it from day one. Until I win a title I don't want to leave here. It's something that motivated me to continue and hopefully it can be this year," said the striker before Sunday's match against the New York Red Bulls.
